Research Information under new ownership

Research Information has been acquired by a new owner, RI Media Ltd, led by Publishing Editor Tim Gillett and Commercial Director Jon Hunt.

Gillett has been editor of Research Information since 2014, while Hunt was formerly head of business development and sales director at Europa Science, the previous owner of the publication.

Hunt said: “Having spent a combined 20-plus years within the scholarly communications industry, we're hugely excited to provide our global audience of library professionals, academics, publishers, tech platform providers and researchers with both a direct line into – and a voice within – this hugely-positive space.

“Nothing will change immediately, but we have big plans for the website, newsletter and magazine in terms of editorial content and commercial opportunities, and will be rolling these out over the coming weeks and months.”

Gillett added: “We are very much open to suggestions as to how we can develop and improve the publication, so if you have any thoughts you’d like to share with us please don’t hesitate to get in touch via editorial@ri-media.co.uk or sales@ri-media.co.uk. We would welcome the opportunity to talk.
