INIST launches OpenSIGLE database
16 July 2008
The French Institute for Scientific and Technical Information (INIST) has launched OpenSIGLE. An open access database, OpenSIGLE, provides bibliographical references of reports and other grey literature produced in Europe online.
OpenSIGLE covers pure and applied science and technology, economics, other sciences and humanities, and is the successor to the SIGLE (System for Information on Grey Literature) database.
SIGLE was created in 1980 to make available grey literature produced in the European Community (EC) by the intermediary of an online database. Created with the support of the EC, the base was produced from 1985 onwards by EAGLE (European Association for Grey Literature Exploitation).
