BMJ plans international expansion

The BMJ Group has created two managing director posts in India and the USA in preparation for growth in the two territories.

Anand Ekambaram joins as MD for, India, from Educomp (the country’s largest education business). The appointment of his counterpart in the USA will be announced shortly.

BMJ CEO Tim Brooks said: 'The BMJ board agreed earlier this year that in order to maintain the momentum of our growth outside our home market, it was essential to recruit local senior management in these vital territories.'

Anand commented: 'I am excited to lead BMJ’s growth plans in India. With healthcare a key focus for both government and private players in India, this is an opportunity for us to deliver tremendous value to the segment. I am looking forward to building on the successes BMJ has created in India and across the world.'
